Beneficiaries

Meanwhile, the fastest senior doggy mile was completed in six minutes and three seconds by Steve Wilkinson and his dog Blue.
Steve held the title previously, completing the walk in six minutes 12 seconds.
The fastest full course was completed in 18 minutes and 34 seconds by Chris Tillbrook and Cassie.
A new record for the under 16 fastest doggy mile was Adam Wright with Lilly who completed the walk in six minutes and four seconds.
Butcher’s brand manager Alison Cookcroft said: “There was a great turnout on the day, even better than we hoped for. It was encouraging to see so many families with their dogs, who were obviously as ‘Fit as a Butcher’s dog’ judging by the speedy times they completed the walk in.
“The Butcher’s Great North Dog walk is a fantastic event which we are proud to support as it reflects our own brand’s belief in family values, exercise and the great outdoors. Long may it continue.”
Beneficiaries from the walk include Dogs for the Disabled, Dogs Trust, Guide Dogs for the Blind, Hearing Dogs for Deaf People, Newcastle Dog and Cat Shelter, Pets as Therapy, PDSA, RSPCA, Stay-aid Limited, Battersea Dogs and Cats Home and Northern English Springer Spaniel Rescue.
